THE RULESET.
Every rule on this page is enforced automatically. Violations are detected from SFTP log data, clustered into engagements, and checked in real time. Appeals link directly to the evidence packet — no screenshots, no he-said-she-said.
01 — Territory Law
[57 ZONES]The Gateway map is divided into 57 named zones. A pack claims one by settling it, defending challenges, and not abandoning it for more than 45 minutes.
- One active claim per pack leader. Splinter packs inherit the parent's claim for 10 min after splitting.
- Sanctuaries (Swamp Sanctuary, Water Access Sanctuary, Hidden Sanctuary, East Sanctuary) cannot be claimed — they are permanent truce zones.
- Wallowing holes are shared resources — no exclusive claim, but engagement caps still apply at them.
- Open a challenge via
/challengein Discord or issue the in-game species vocal. - Resolves on: first downed combatant · full disengage (90 s both sides clear) · 20 min timeout.
- You cannot challenge while an active nest is present in the territory. Nesting = truce window.
02 — Hunger & Hunt Protocol
[≤70% HUNGER REQUIRED]Carnivores must be genuinely hungry before initiating a hunt. Killing for sport, territory control, or karma farming while sated is an overkill violation.
- A carnivore's hunger must be at 70% or below before opening a hunt on any target.
- Declare via
/hunt open --hungryin Discord, or game logs will confirm your last-eat timestamp was >15 minutes ago. - Hunting a target while visibly sated (fed within 10 min per game logs) = -150 karma "OVERKILL" violation, logged to
#combat-log. - The Field Cam on the homepage demonstrates this mechanic: the dino will not hunt prey while its hunger meter is above 70%.
EXEMPTIONS: Defending your claimed territory · protecting a nest or juvenile · retaliation within 5 min of being attacked · marked bounty target.
03 — Engagement Caps
[5 TIERS]Attacker count is capped by the target species' size tier. Defenders get their full group-size max — home-territory advantage is real and enforced.

> Exceeding the cap flags the engagement as a cap violation. -150 karma per attacker over the limit, applied automatically.
04 — Mix-Pack Rules
Multi-species packs are legal by default. Certain combinations are forbidden because they produce ecosystem-breaking force multipliers.
Allosaurus + Carnotaurus— the two western apexes may not run together.Troodon + Dilophosaurus— base-camp grief pattern. Separate packs only.
Allosaurus + Ceratosaurus— classic Morrison pairing. Allowed.- Any herbivore multi-species herd — allowed up to combined group cap.
05 — Semi-Aquatic Exceptions
Ceratosaurus and Deinosuchus have water access that other carnivores don't. The rules recognize that advantage and limit its abuse.
- Semi-aquatic carnivores may claim one terrestrial territory adjacent to their water lane.
- Beach raids are capped at 10 minutes per lunar cycle — tracked automatically.
- Open-ocean crossings by terrestrial species are logged but not penalized.
- Zone entries into
Swamp,River Delta,West Tail,East Coasttrigger semi-aquatic rule checks.
06 — KOS & Hunt Ritual
Kill-on-sight of an unaware, non-threatening, sated target is the highest-penalty violation outside cheating. A declared ritual removes the KOS flag.
- Species vocal challenge (in-game call system)

08 — Nesting & Young-Hunt Protocol
[HERBIVORE-ONLY TRUCE]The truce-radius nesting system applies to herbivores only. Carnivores have no truce — they are expected to actively hunt vulnerable young under the ecological pressures of the ruleset. Bonuses reward species-appropriate young-hunts.
- A herbivore laying an active clutch creates a 30m truce radius for 12h or until the nest hatches, whichever comes first.
- Any carnivore entering the truce radius without
--starvingdeclared (hunger <25%) takes a -400 karma NEST-BREAK penalty plus auto-kick on repeat. - Other herbivores inside the radius may not initiate combat against the nesting parent.
- Imprinting parent-bond pays +100 karma if a juvenile the parent incubated reaches 0.6 growth alive.
- Nest events surface on the live feed as
NEST DETECTEDand on the map as a pulsing green circle.
- Troodon are exempt from every nest-truce rule. They may predate juveniles, eggs, and sleeping adults freely.
- Troodon broods are stashed in concealed burrows, not the open nest system — other species cannot detect them on the map.
- A Troodon killed inside a nest truce radius incurs zero penalty to the killer. Troodons accept these are their stakes.
Carnivores should actively hunt vulnerable young. Bonuses scale with species fit, predator age, weight, and diet. All criteria are evaluated from log data — no self-report required.

> Maximum stacked bonus: +390 karma per valid young-hunt. Bonuses do NOT stack for the same prey player more than once per 6h.
- Fresh-spawn juveniles are guided by the bot to spawn in the biome matching their species' core habitat (see Territory data) and within 350m of a living adult of the same species when available.
- If no adult of the species is logged in, the spawner routes to the nearest sanctuary with matching biome — never open plains.
- Tells: you will receive
/spawn briefwhispered by the bot in Discord before you load in, naming the territory and the nearest adult's screen name (or "no adults online — routing sanctuary").
09 — Genetics & Lineage
- Base mutation rate: 5% per birth for brand-new mutations. Hereditary rate (one parent is a carrier): 30%.
- Pass-down range: 30–85% depending on the mutation's rarity (common → 85%, mythic → 30%).
- Every mutated individual is stamped with a unique 🧬 identifier (
🧬-ABCD-1234) visible on their profile card, in/lineage, and on the live feed. - Cannibalism trait: 15% hereditary. Carriers gain +25% nutrition from conspecific kills but -50 karma per action. The trait skips a generation 70% of the time — surprise re-emergence is expected.
- Color palette is inherited from parents — offspring base coat is a weighted blend of both sire and dam palettes, with a 5% chance of a novel hue if both parents are palette-drift carriers.
- First discovery of a new mutation on-server = +500 TrailCoins + announcement in
#genetic-alerts. - Lineage trees tracked per bloodline. Legacy unlocks at Ascended karma tier.

10 — Mutation Skin Systems
[5 BASE · DISCORD-GATED]Mutation skins are rare visual phenotypes. Each one awards a Discord role that persists across characters. Other species react to the skin in-world — worship, submission, challenge, or fear — enforced by the bot narrator.

> Discord role is awarded the first time the mutation is expressed in-game. Role is permanent; skin is not — a death without passing the gene ends the skin for that lineage.
11 — Size Variants
- Gigantism — +15% size, +10% bite & health, -8% stamina. Legendary rarity. Carrier is visibly larger than all peers.
- Standard — no modifier. The vast majority of individuals.
- Island Dwarfism — -12% size, +10% speed, -10% bite. Rare. Grants

12 — Group Roles & Hidden Achievements
Five group roles can be unlocked per player. Each is a hidden achievement — the unlock criteria are not published. The bot watches for the pattern; when triggered, the Discord role is awarded automatically.

13 — Seasonal Behavioral Effects
The server runs a 28-day seasonal cycle (7 real days per season). Behavioral baselines shift each season — the bot narrates the transition and enforces the modifiers through karma and AI scripting.

14 — Discord & Chat Conduct
- IC vs OOC — In-character taunts in
#field-logare fine. Out-of-character harassment is a 1-strike permanent ban. - No metagaming — do not relay live position data across Discord unless both players are in the same pack channel. Logs are monitored.
- Voice channels — pack voice rooms are auto-created on claim. Trespass into a rival pack's voice is logged and reported.
- DMs — the bot will never ask for credentials. Any DM claiming to be "staff" asking for RCON is a phishing attempt; report to
#abuse-reports. - Language — slurs of any kind = immediate ban, no appeal. Heated trash talk between packs is tolerated so long as it stays within IC/PvP scope.
- Nicknames — your Discord nick is auto-synced to your in-game name when you link with
/link. Mismatches make appeals unreviewable.
- The bot monitors every channel. Violations generate
Incidentrecords tied to your player profile. - Three active incidents within 30 days = auto-mute 24h. Five = temporary ban. Ten in a bloodline = ancestral karma reset.
/strikesin any channel shows your current active incident count.- All enforcement is appealable via
/appeal incident:<id>— the appeal embeds the log evidence and routes to staff review.
